Living WITHOUT – Write 31 Days – 2015

Not a Sparrow Falls WITHOUT Your Father Knowing

“What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows,” (Matthew 10:29-31, NLT). These verses have always been encouraging to me. When I first did my search on the word without, I was tickled that these verses came up. I was delighted to be able to offer encouragement about how attentive God is to the smallest details of our lives. You… Read More ›

WITH Great Joy, WITHOUT a Single Fault!

It’s been a long time since I’ve participated in Kate’s Five-Minute-Friday link-up group. And it’s a JOY to be able to participate this week. Each week, a group of bloggers are given a one-word prompt. We write for five minutes–no editing. Then we gather up at her site and share our words. 🙂 I checked in the last couple of weeks, hoping that the prompt would line up with my #write31days series. But it didn’t. That was totally OK. God other plans. When I looked at my posting calendar for this next week, I had some empty days; and again was hoping this week’s prompt would… Read More ›

Only One WITHOUT Sin Can Judge

Caught! Red-handed. Every reason to be pronounced, Guilty! There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, (Romans 8:1). John 8:1-11 tells us a follow-up story. Jesus was in the synagogue teaching. The Pharisees knew He would be there. She was in a man’s bed–a man who was not her husband. Obviously, the Pharisees knew she would be there. The stage was set. Jewish law dictated that anyone found committing adultery would be stoned. The Pharisees wanted to see how Jesus would respond to her guilt. So they paraded her before Him and everyone else in the temple, and… Read More ›

They Speak WITHOUT Saying A Word

Our family loves to camp. Preferably some place where it’s quiet and city lights are far away. We are blessed to have dear friends who share their property with us. One of our favorite things is to lie down on the ground, and watch the sky on a cloudless night. The moon and the stars provide more than enough to light the area. Falling stars are easy to spot–along with the Milky Way. It seems like we could lie there for hours. It’s incredibly peaceful. I love to watch the sunrise–rays filtered through the tall trees and cold morning fog–reflected on… Read More ›

Like Sheep WITHOUT a Shepherd

Have you ever seen this? A person walking down the hallway, a grocery aisle, maybe even through a parking lot. Head bowed, eyes focused on their smart phone. Oblivious to what’s going on around them–even if it’s danger. Maybe it’s your teen. Maybe it’s been you. (I must admit, it has been me.) Sheep are like that. When they are eating, they have their heads down in the grass. They don’t look up. They just go where the grass is–even if it means falling off of a cliff because they didn’t look up. Because they don’t pay attention to where they… Read More ›

God’s Word Never Returns WITHOUT Accomplishing Everything He Intended

I LOVE GOD’S WORD. It is true. It is faithful. It is alive! It is powerful for changing our lives. “As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it,”(Isaiah 55:11-12, NLT). I love this passage of Scripture. It… Read More ›

Worship–At the Cross (Love Ran Red)

This week we’ve taken a good look at God’s great gift of Salvation. Jesus Christ was God’s perfect, acceptable sacrifice for our sin. Because of Christ, we are not condemned. Jesus Christ alone is our firm foundation. Jesus Christ is our beautiful hope and the reason for our faith. We must tell others! How will they hear unless we tell them!     Today we worship with a song from Chris Tomlin. “At the Cross (Love Ran Red)” There’s a place where mercy reigns and never dies, There’s a place where streams of grace flow deep and wide. Where all the love I’ve… Read More ›
