Do You Know How Much You Are Loved?

Do you know how much you are loved? From time to time, all of us wonder if we are truly loved by anyone. Sometimes we need reminders how much God Himself loves us. If you’ve ever felt that way, if you feel that way now … I’m here to tell you that you are not alone. The strongest believers sometimes need encouragement that they are deeply loved by God. Even Daniel–who served before kings interpreting their dreams, who was tossed into the lion’s den and rescued by an angel–still needed reassurance of God’s love for him. Daniel served the kings of Babylon… Read More ›

Are You Captivated By Love?

What captures your attention–and holds it? I don’t mean things that occupy your time or preoccupy your thoughts–like social media feeds, games, or TV shows. What is something beautiful that attracts you, charms you, fascinates and delights you–enthralls you! For me, I’m easily preoccupied with this blog site–making sure it is not only pretty, but clean and easy to read. You could say that, in some ways, it’s distracting. But I’m captivated by my kids. I love to watch and listen to my son play his guitar. Just hearing him practice brings me great delight. I’m over the moon when I’m watching… Read More ›

WITH The Lord, Is Unfailing Love And Full Redemption

It seems like while I was “with my withouts,” a lot of other things were without me! A dear friend of mine encouraged me to focus on some “withs” as a follow-up to my #write31days challenge of 31 Days of Living WITHOUT. My heart was so encouraged as I began researching that. This post is the beginning of a few of those. (that, this and those … blech!!) So look for a couple of posts a week between now and the end of the year focusing on some great withs! I’m slowly working my second time through Beth Moore’s STEPPING UP…. Read More ›

Not a Sparrow Falls WITHOUT Your Father Knowing

“What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows,” (Matthew 10:29-31). These verses have always been encouraging to me. When I first did my search on the word without, I was tickled that these verses came up. I was delighted to be able to offer encouragement about how attentive God is to the smallest details of our lives. You know… Read More ›

He Knows Your Name!

Last week my high-schoolers picked up their yearbooks. Since then, they have been pouring over them–page after page–looking for pictures of themselves and of their friends. For the most part, it’s been a joyous time. But there have been a few disappointments. Their picture was missing, a name was misspelled, or a name was left off altogether. These disappointments are front and center in their conversations right now. Our names are important to us! They are a huge part of who we are. When someone misspells it, it’s almost like they aren’t even referring to us. My name is Dianne. D-i-a-n-n-e. Yes, that’s… Read More ›

His … Forever!

Sometimes I feel alone–and lonely. Sometimes my heart is full with the love of my friends and my family. Sometimes it’s not. I remember when I was in high school–I was the different one.  (My teens would argue that I have no clue what it’s like to be different from one’s peers. Indeed, today’s society is much different than the one I grew up in. But the dynamics of being different and separate are the same.) Even today, I sometimes feel that way. I think it’s normal–especially for Christians. Certainly we have the love and support of fellow believers, but sometimes life… Read More ›

Unfailing Love

“What a [woman] desires is unfailing love …” (Proverbs 19:22 NIV)  “Many claim to have unfailing love, but a faithful person who can find?” (Proverbs 20:6 NIV) God designed all of us for relationship, but women uniquely so. From girlhood to adulthood, we tend to be drawn into relationships, looking for our “best friend” – or our BFF. I thought I had BFF figured out, but the vernacular has changed once again. Now my girls have BAE’s—or Best Awesome Ever (pronounced like bay—but you probably already knew that). The truth is, human love fails—sometimes tragically. On one side of the relationship,… Read More ›
