His … Forever!

Sometimes I feel alone–and lonely. Sometimes my heart is full with the love of my friends and my family. Sometimes it’s not. I remember when I was in high school–I was the different one.  (My teens would argue that I have no clue what it’s like to be different from one’s peers. Indeed, today’s society is much different than the one I grew up in. But the dynamics of being different and separate are the same.) Even today, I sometimes feel that way.

I think it’s normal–especially for Christians. Certainly we have the love and support of fellow believers, but sometimes life circumstances are such that we just … feel alone.

I’m comforted knowing that God chose me–to be His own. And He chose you! Rest in His love, knowing you are His forever!

The Lord has declared today that you are his people, his own special treasure, just as he promised, and that you must obey all his commands. And if you do, he will set you high above all the other nations he has made. Then you will receive praise, honor, and renown. You will be a nation that is holy to the Lord your God, just as he promised. (Deuteronomy 26:18-19)

The Lord will not abandon his people, because that would dishonor his great name. For it has pleased the Lord to make you his very own people. (1 Samuel 12:22)

You made Israel your very own people forever, and you, O Lord, became their God. (2 Samuel 7:24)

Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. (Ephesians 1:4-5 )

He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds. (Titus 2:14)
