Five Minute Friday – Turn
This is my first time to participate in Five Minute Friday. It will be a challenge, for sure, as I am a grammar junkie and review, review, review before I press the Publish button.
The word for today is Turn …. so here we go!
Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. (Hebrews 12:1-2)
It’s true … when we have our eyes focused on one thing … everything else fades away.
I am easily distracted — by just about everything. You know … squirrel, squirrel, squirrel. And it’s hard to stay focused on one thing. And I wonder why I’m not always captivated by the face of Jesus. But when I am, I find that I am much more settled about my life–and the ones I love.
Reminds me of a song my kids like so much right now … “Fix My Eyes” … by King and Country (another one of those cute songs with a fun hand clap that my girls have learned perfectly.)
Life is totally different when our eyes on Jesus — because then — we see others.
Beautiful. I am your Five Minute Friday neighbor. I hope you will continue with your writings on Friday. I have to edit some also. I am a bit of a perfectionist. It’s really okay!!

I need to be better at editing.sometimes I go back and correct it if I happen to re- read something that is wrong. I couldn’t read the words because i was so taken with your new look, it’s beautiful.
Editing *can* be your friend. And is, most of the time. But–it can steal your precious time, too! Glad you came by!!
Thanks for stopping by! And it’s good to know I’m not alone!!
Loved this post… editing? What’s that… lol I normally hit the publish button just as my eye catches the error and I chide myself as to why I didn’t read over the post or comment again… always in such a rush…
