A Little Loved Lamb
I don’t think we realize how tenderly we are loved. I know I don’t. I am a driven, Type-A personality. It comes with an unhealthy dose of high expectations–and guilt when I don’t measure up. Thankfully, through His Word, the Lord reminds me, over and again, how tenderly He loves me. He loves you with the same, tender love.
For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs. (Zephaniah 3:17 )
Long ago the Lord said to Israel: “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.” (Jeremiah 31:3)
I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love. To them I was like one who lifts a little child to the cheek, and I bent down to feed them. (Hosea 11:4, NIV)
How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! (Psalm 139:17-18)
You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. (Psalm 56:8)
You’ve kept track of my every toss and turn through the sleepless nights, each tear entered in your ledger, each ache written in your book. (Psalm 56:8 The Message)
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God. (1 John 3:1 NIV)
The Lord delights in me! He loves me with a love that does not fail! He is always thinking about me!!
The Lord delights in YOU! He loves YOU with a love that does not fail! He is always thinking about YOU!
Dianne, thank you for the lovely post. I notice that the lamb is settling in comfortably without questioning whether it deserves or has earned such tenderness. Grace.

Yes, totally settled. Not restless–which I tend to be.
Zephaniah 3:17 is one of my very favorite verses … I always envision God loving over His children just as I used sing over my babies and calm my children’s fears. How wonderful is that?!
I loooove that picture!!! So needed today!
I love it, too. I remember the first time I read it–in an article in DISCIPLESHIP JOURNAL, written by Paul Thigpen. He described “rejoicing” as “spinning around with unrestrained joy.” It always makes me grin when I read it now.
Thanks. I looked all around for a “free” photo … but none captured the idea I was looking for better than this one. So I bit the bullet. 😉
The photo is precious. I do think in times of adversity especially, these are good reminders, that God is for us, not against. That despite our circumstances God’s love is steadfast. Lovely to meet you through Holley’s link up.
Dianne – Zep. 3:17 One of my favorite scriptures! Thank you for the encouraging post!
Blessings,
Lynne
Thanks, Shelly. Looking forward to reading more from you.
You’re welcome, Lynne. We need this every day, don’t we!
Thank you so much for sharing these thoughts/truths with us, and for that precious photo! Thank you for biting the bullet! Whew! I just say Selah! God continue to bless you richly!
